Thanks Christchurch!
We are thrilled to be launching our first Weekend edition of
our flagship publication Mainland Press, which from now
on will be available twice a week throughout Christchurch.
Aside from being our first weekend paper, is filled with lots
of great new content, including stock listings, TV listings, a
revamped Opinion page and of course more of the best in
local news, views and advertising.
After extensive reader and advertiser feedback, a
weekend edition is the next step in our journey as a
business. Since the events of February 22 our business,
like so many others has gone through a huge amount of
upheaval.
From four papers before the earthquake we moved to one
new masthead, Mainland Press to ensure we could reach
all of Christchurch with many of our readers and
advertisers being displaced. We have persisted and today
represents the culmination of our team’s hard work.
On a personal note, we are immensely proud of the work
that has been put into the launch of this new edition. Our
editor, Chris Tobin, our general manager of sales Peter
Hampton, our production manager Lesley Stuart, and all our
great team: Thank you for all your efforts over the last six
months and for enabling this to happen. This could also not
have happened without the support of our advertisers,
mostly local businesses, institutions, and agencies, we
would also importantly like to thank you.
Please remember that Mainland Press is a local, family
owned business. We are committed to Christchurch, and
everything we do is about our local community. By reading
our paper, and supporting our advertisers, you are
ensuring that a truly local paper thrives.
